Here are our Top 20 #FeministFest picks of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015. They’re in alphabetical order. We haven’t seen any of these shows yet. The #FeministFest team sifted through the entire Fringe programme and friends’ recommendations. These are the twenty pitches that jumped out at us. Many are written, directed, produced and performed by women. All feature feminist themes and content.

We left the Isle of Skye three months ago. On 5th January we loaded car and van with no real clue where we were going or how we would get there. I had plans in place but with all the Councils and Estate Agencies  closed for Christmas it was impossible to really be sure. I knew we had the use of a caravan high on a hill for as long as we needed. I knew Moray Council knew we were coming. I knew Women’s Aid knew we were coming.

Because of the circumstances, we were offered refuge in the Women’s Aid shelter in either Dingwall or Elgin, but the dog and the cat couldn’t come. They would have had to have been fostered out. I couldn’t have coped with that. I couldn’t have put Niamhy-Woof, my 15 year old lab/ collie cross and most loyal friend into foster care. So…

“First Kiss” Director’s Latest Video Shows “Strangers” Undressing in Front of Each Other

Filmmaker Talia Pilieva’s latest viral video claims to show people undressing in front of one another and then getting into a bed together, laughing at the awkwardness of it all. As she says in the YouTube description, “I asked strangers to undress each other and get in bed. Nothing else. No rules.” It is part of a promotion for Showtime’s Masters of Sex, the show about pioneering sex researchers that starts up again on Sunday, July 13.

Her video of 20 “strangers” kissing for the first time went viral, boasting more than 86 million views on YouTube to date. However, some Internet users were bummed that it was an ad for clothing brand WREN featuring professional actors — so not as spontaneous as people initially thought. Refresh your memory below:
